About Me

I am married to Kelly and we have 2 children, Seth and Carli. I served in the United States Marines as a Recon Marine and a sniper. I was severly wounded in Iraq in 2006 and currently am devoting the year to help other wounded veterans while trying to break the World Record for most Ironman 70.3 triathlons and long-distance triathlons in a year!

I headed back to the East Coast for this race and this time I get to see my buddy John. John and I attended Sniper School together and deployed together when we were in the Marine Corps. John and I have some history so it was really special seeing him again. Besi...

Back out to Michigan I head and this time I was going to spend my time at my buddy Mitch’s house. Mitch was kind enough to set aside one of his rooms to make me feel comfortable. He had a bed with dinosaur sheets and blankets and I was stoked! Mitch is also a comba...

After coming off a great race with awesome support, I headed over to Benton Harbor for the Steelhead 70.3IM with another great round of support. Not only did my wife Kelly and kids come, but I had my great friend Chris and his wife along with their two children dr...

Boulder, Colorado was a race I knew I was going to have to dig a bit deeper. This is because I had a great support crew coming out to watch and I surly didn’t want to disappoint them. It all started with my good friend Amanda. You see Amanda reached out to one of her f...

For Delaware, Kelly and I made this a family trip and event. As for it being my 14th race, I was feeling pretty good but of course still a bit sore. On this event, I was pretty excited because I was able to sign my daughter Carli and my son Seth up for the Kids Iro...

Canada was such a friendly country and great place to visit! My first example is where I arrived in Canada and retrieved my luggage & bike. One family happened to ask what was in the box, they thought it might have been a drum set. I corrected them and told them it was...

July 16, 2017

Out of all the races, this race was the closest to home. I was excited that my wife Kelly was going to do this race as a relay with 2 others. This was great because Kelly, Amanda, and Katie were able to experience what I experience rather than just reading my words fro...

11 Ironmans down and my family got to attend one! This was great because it was sort of a mini-getaway for the kids, not for myself. The kids were able to play on the beach and swim in the pool at the hotel so they had fun. They ran around a lot in betwe...

I have heard nothing but great reviews on Coeur d'Alene from friends, family, & other triathletes. Coeur d’Alene is named one of the most beautiful and scenic courses to do, and is probably on a bucket list for any triathlete. My sister Gina was very helpful with...

Just as I was anticipating my race in NC, Alabama, and a few others, I was really excited to head to New York. The reason for this was because I got to meet up with my buddy, another Sniper, Jon. The last time I saw Jon was in Iraq in 2012. John did a phenomenal j...
