Maryland was so far the best races set up logistically. The reason I say this is because the local American Legion commander, Tom, out of Maryland allowed me to stay at this RV where he parked only 100 feet from the transition area! That being said, I was abl...

North Carolina was another race I was anticipating similarly to my last few races. The reason being was that a good close buddy of mine, Dave Spicer, who I served with at 2/8 & deployed with to Iraq when I was injured, was also eager for my arrival. A quick story...

May 28, 2017

I was looking forward to this race because I was linking up with some Recon and Sniper friends in Scottsboro, Alabama. I got to stay on the same lake where I was racing, Dave a former Recon Marine. My buddy Joe, who I served with at 2/8, also a Sniper, came up fro...

After first meeting the Danish Team Veteran at the Marine Corps Marathon in DC last year, I,  along with other members of Semper Fi had the opportunity to run a marathon with the Danish  in Copenhagen, Denmark. While in Denmark I was able to meet up with frie...

Every race has been an enjoyable one with new experiences and new friends along the way. My stay down in Florida was made more enjoyable because of friends I have met this year starting back to my first start in Arizona. One person who I became friends with in Boston k...

Utah is a beautiful place to visit and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to get away to a desert like environment. The colorful red rock mixed with the sunset makes for a great picture setting background.

During my check in process I ran into another Iraq ve...

I’ll start this off by saying…..I won!......Seeing that I’m still new to doing 70.3 Ironman I can say that I’m happy. I really didn't think that I would win and that was not my intentions.

Now that I got my excitement out of the way, I will say that Georgia was a great...

Boston will be another race to remember. As I tackle each race, I learn a bit more about myself while learning about others. No matter how much you train, 26.2 miles in one of the world's toughest marathons will make you think twice, if not multiple times of why I'm to...

Help arrived 360 degrees for my race in Galveston, Texas.

Help comes in many forms, but on this occasion, help was much needed as I was searching for a place to lay my head prior to my race. I first reached out to Eddie who I served with and deployed with while at 1st...

March 20, 2017

Ok so I completed my first race of the season. It was the Toughman Half Ironman in Lake Havasu, Arizona. I was looking forward to racing after months of training.

I was happy to have a place to stay while in Lake Havasu! My friend Dave Kreis connected me with his aunt...

Racing to give back

It's official! I have officially broken the Guinness World Record for the most 70.3 Ironman Triatholns in a year! I did all of this all while raising money for wounded and recovering Veterans. I am proud to say that I raised nearly $100,000 for the Semper Fi Fund! My racing is continuing and I am working on new goals this year!

Due to COVID-19 many races have been canceled or postponed.

I will continue to add races as they appear on the schedule.

  • June 28 Steelhead 70.3

  • August 23 Chattanooga 70.3 Ironman

  • September 14 Boston Marathon

  • October 4 London Marathon

  • October 11 Chicago Marathon

  • November 1 New York Marathon

  •  For 2020, I plan on raising a minimum of $1000 for each race. Please continue to donate to help injured and recovering service members.

About Me

I am married to Kelly and we have 2 children, Seth and Carli. I served in the United States Marines as a Recon Marine and a sniper. I was severly wounded in Iraq in 2006 and currently am devoting the year to help other wounded veterans while trying to break the World Record for most Ironman 70.3 triathlons and long-distance triathlons in a year!
